The S9 AutoSet combines an intelligent algorithm with Easy-Breathe expiratory pressure relief (EPR™) to dynamically adjust pressure for maximum comfort. Using ResMed's time-tested APAP technology, AutoSet continually monitors breathing, adapting breath by breath to always deliver the lowest therapeutic pressure, improving comfort and sleep. CSA detection is now available in both the S9 AutoSet and S9 Elite.

It uses the forced oscillation technique (FOT) to determine the state of the airway during an apnea. When an apnea is detected, small oscillations are added to the pressure to measure airway patency. The CSA algorithm uses the resulting flow and pressure to measure airway patency and differentiate central and obstructive events.

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)?
* OSA occurs when the airway becomes severely limited or completely blocked during sleep.
* Your body is stressed through lack of oxygen.
* The brain reacts by sending urgent signals to resume breathing.
* Blood oxygen levels fall and blood pressure rises.
* This episode can repeat literally hundreds of times a night.

What is Central Sleep Apnea?
* CSA occurs when the brain temporarily stops sending signals to the muscles that control breathing.
* During a CSA, the airway will remain open but there is no airflow.

SlimLine™ Vs. ClimateLine™ Tubing:
The SlimLine™ Tubing is a light weight tubing compared to the traditional cpap tubing. The SlimLine tube is 40% lighter and 20% thinner. The ClimateLine™ Tubing is a heated tubing with build in heating wires to reduce water build up in the tubing. The ClimateLine™ Tubing can only be used with the H5i™ Heated Humidifier.
